　　Pre-pandemic, the tourism industry was developing and growing every year in order for countries to attract tourists from around the globe. There are various reasons for this phenomenon, which will be further discussed, and the pros and cons of such a development will be weighed.

　　Travellers bring tourist receipts to local vendors in the form of hotel stays, transportation, flights as well as spending at retail locations and restaurants. Moreover, expanding the tourism industry creates jobs for people who are unable to find work elsewhere or in other sectors, particular in developing nations where unemployment is high. In addition, as the quantity of tourists rises in the future, it is a fantastic idea to build up the tourism industry in developing countries in order to create a foundation for future growth. Also, tourism spreads culture and acts as a way to promote local customs and traditions to the rest of the world.

　　On the one hand, developing the tourism industry can cash in on future travel trends that can lead to economic development and job creation. On the other hand, expanding tourism does harm to the environment and can bring detrimental effects through the addition of pollution in cities as a greater amount of individuals use methods of transportation to get from one place to the next. What’s more, waste accumulates at tourist attractions in the form of litter and sewage, while tourists may disrupt residents’ daily lives.

　　Overall, there are economic, cultural and growth prospects for developing the tourism industry. Nonetheless, there are issues including increased pollution and emissions from transport, waste, as well as bothering locals. All points considered, I firmly believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages in this matter.
