　　1. What family activity did you do when you were young? And What about now?

　　When I was a little kid, I used to go to the nearest park for walks with my parents a lot. We would walk along the stone paths after dinner and talk about our day.  But now we seldom go to parks. Instead, we often go to the cinema on weekends and spend some quality time talking about the movie afterwards.

　　2. Has the family activity changed in the last 20 years?

　　It certainly has. 20 years ago, people used to have family activities in a more traditional fashion, such as watching movies, go to parks, and eating out together. But now there’s more variety in the activities people can do as a family, like playing video games and stuff.

　　3. Do you spend more time at home or outside?

　　On workdays, I spend more time outside, and home is just a place for me to sleep. But on weekends, I enjoy staying at home playing games and reading to relax.

　　4. What do you do at home?

　　There are quite a number of things that I enjoy doing at home. I’m a big fan of detective novels, so I usually spend a lot of time reading.  I also love playing video games with my friends. I often invite them over to have a match.

　　5. What is the difference between the activities you do on holidays and as usual?

　　On holidays, I have more free time, so I can afford to do activities that requires more time and efforts, such as hiking and rock climbing. But normally the leisure time is limited, I can only do some simple things like watching movies.

　　6. In China, what sorts of things do people do together as family?

　　In China, having meals with your family is really important. It’s actually part of our traditional culture. People also have walks in parks and play games such as mahjong with family members.

　　7. When do you get together with other members of your family?

　　During festivals, especially the Spring Festival, which is the most important festival of the year. It’s a tradition for the whole family to reunite and have a feast on the Spring Festival Eve. And special occasions such as weddings are also great opportunities to see family members.
