口语高分素材:Alright, talking about an experience that I was not allowed to use my phone, I wanna tell you about my last final exam.

It was last June and the exam was taken place in my university. We took the exam in the great hall and every student was asked to put their bags in the back or side area of the room. Students were required to turn off their mobile phones in order to keep thevenue quiet. Before the exam, several examiners double checked if any student held a phone in their pocket. There was a student who only muted his phone and he was told to switch it offand put it back to the bag.

雅思口语Part2 不能用手机的时候8分素材及表达分享!

The reason why phones were forbidden in an exam was very obvious. First and foremost, some students may use their phones to cheat. Since phones are almost almighty nowadays, it will be way too easy to google an answer and look it up in the dictionaries via the phone. Thus, it is absolutely reasonable toban mobile phones in an exam. Furthermore, the ringtones andnotifications will disturb all the exam candidates if the phones are brought to the venue. Imagine a phone kept ringing during a writing exam, all the students would feel annoyed for sure.

So yeah personally I’m in favor of banning phones in exam venues. I think it helps to prevent cheating and to build a nice environment for all the candidates.
