　　在句中起提示、停顿、过渡的作用，大部分情况下没有实际意义，去掉也不影响句子意思，基本上可以理解为废话，但是能够，缓解思路卡壳的尴尬，提高口语交流的流利度

　　①句子开头：umm.../Well/ you know/ basically/ let me see/ i guess/ i suppose/literally...

　　场景举例：

　　Q: Do you like listening to music?

　　A: Well, I’m quite into music. Umm...Because it calms my nerves when i feel tired. And my favorite kind of music is ...

　　②句子开头，但多用于不太熟悉的话题，简单话题则不用：let me think about that/ let me see/ it’s really difficult to say/ I’ve never thought about it...

　　场景举例：

　　Q: Do you think adverts for fast food should be banned?

　　A: I’ve never thought about it. But i think they should be forbidden. In our daily life, there are many ads about fast food, like McDonald....junk food is unhealthy for us, especially children and it’s hard for parents to regulate their children’s diet with all those programs and ads going on TV.

　　③句子中间：i mean/ what I’m trying to say is(that...)/ how can I put it/ what’s the word I’m looking for/ you may not believe, but.../ you might think it’s weird, but...

　　场景举例：

　　Q: Are there many science museums in your hometown?

　　A: No, not really. I mean, my hometown is a small city. The government still mainly focuses on developing the economy, building more factories and office buildings instead of museums or galleries.

　　Fillers give you extra thinking time, not making things more difficult.

　　不要过度使用过滤词，优先选择容易记住，并顺口的。
