　　Why you volunteered

　　至于为什么要参加志愿者活动，首先它可以被分为：自愿和强迫。

　　•如果是强迫的，你可能只是为了完成某人和某组织给出的规定任务。

　　Example : 教堂志愿者

　　Honestly, my parent told me I had to do some volunteering. They thought it would be good for me to give back to the community and that the work would be character building. They also told me it would look good on my college applications.

　　•如果是自愿的，你参加的理由可能是因为“Opportunity”。

　　Example one: 篮球赛志愿者

　　I decided to become a volunteer basically because I am a huge basketball fan and wasn't able to buy a ticket because they sold like hotcakes 畅销. Then my friend told me about the volunteering positions and I jumped at the chance 抓住机会. I had to go through 3 rounds of interviews and luckily I was selected.

　　Example two: 动物收容所志愿者

　　I am a huge fan of animals but at the time my mum said I was not allowed to get a pet. I was really sad about it and was moaning to my aunty about it. She suggested I try helping out at the local animal shelter where the animals really needed some love and attention.

　　Example three: 音乐工作室志愿者

　　I had known about the 2 volunteer positions for years. Everyone knew about it as it was such a good opportunity. As soon as I graduated I applied. It was like the dream job for me as all I wanted to do was get into the music business. This would be my foot in the door.
