　　I’d like to talk about my friend Sally who is an excellent example of a natural-born leader.

　　I met Sally in university. We were roommates for 4 years. Even when she was only 19 years old, she showed her talent at leading people.

　　During our first year in college, we were put into the same group for a project in our English Literature course. There were 5 of us and at first all of us seemed to be at a loss what we should do except Sally, of course, who already had a clear plan in her head. She considered every group member’s strength and assigned each one the task that would best suit that person. She also arranged our weekly meetings to discuss how things were going with each of us and made sure that we were all on the right track. One thing that impressed me the most was that there was a person who was not really willing to do any work, but somehow Sally managed to motivate that person to participate. I don’t know how she managed that. I guess perhaps it was her charisma as a leader. She just has that inexplainable power that can infect other people with her enthusiasm.

　　After college, Sally started her career as in interpreter in an international company and now after just 3 years, she’s been promoted to be the head of her department. I think there are several reason why she has such great leadership. First of all, she’s never rude to people. She shows her respect for their hard work and gives sound advice about how they can improve. She also listens to people, involving everyone in decision-making, which makes people feel valued. She’s probably the most charismatic people I know in real life.
