　　Do you like meeting new people?

　　1. Do you like meeting new people?

　　No, I don’t. Because I’m kind of nervous in front of people who I’m not familiar with. Last Friday a friend of mine introduced a girl to me at a movie party. It was really a great person, I mean, she’s gorgeous and very outgoing. But I felt a bit tense and didn’t know what to say to her, so I just kept eating chips when she talked about Harry Potter and The Matrix.

　　2. How do you feel when people welcome you?

　　How do I feel…well, it depends on the situation. If they welcome me warmly because I’m a new recruit, I’ll feel grateful and very delighted. But if I’m on holiday and get welcome from hotel staff members, I’ll stay cool because I know it’s just their job to do this.

　　3. Do you often meet new people?

　　Yes, I do. Because meeting new people is my daily job. As the HR of my company, I give interviews to at least 3 job applicants every day and when I’m in an interview, I ask about things like their working experience and personalities. I’ll enjoy the talk more with calm and modest candidates. I guess this is because I’m also this kind of person. Yeah, I really often meet new people.

　　Yeah, I think I can. Because I know what type of people I like. Um, I hit it off with people who like smiling. Those people are always friendly and interesting and if I see such a person in my workplace or at a party for the first time, I know I like him and I believe we can become friends.
