　　01. In your culture, what do people often do to tighten family ties?

　　From my perspective, there are quite a few ways that are popular in recent years for people in my country to consolidate their family ties. A case in point is that a family trip is widely accepted. During the trip, all family members will get together, have fun together and experience a ot of new things together. More interestingly, it's also the way to establish the common memory of the family. We can imagine that after the trip all family members can also sit together to look at photos the took during the trip and talk about how much fun they gained from the trip. Naturally, family ties will definitely be tightened.

　　Talking about relationship among people, I have to say that I can't find anyone who is more important than my family members to me. Probably it's a kind of traditional Chinese philosophy. Since I was quite young, I have been taught the value of family. Family members are always who we can completely trust on, who are forever on our side and who can give us a warm hug no matter who we are or what we have done. This can perfectly explain why millions of Chinese tend to travel thousands of kilometres to meet their family members to celebrate traditional festivals together The happiness we gain from being with our family members is absolutely more important than what we suffer from the long distance trip.

　　03. Is the relationship among family members changing in your culture?

　　I have to admit that the relationship among family members in my ure is continuously changing. Generally speaking, family bonds are to a great extentnot as tight as before. Younger generations understanding of family ties is totally different from that of old generations. Young people in my country nowadays are quite independent so they don't want to live with their parents when they are 18 years old. The majority of young people born in middle-sized small-sized cities are immigrating to major cities in search of opportunities. All things they do seem that they are estranged from their family members.

　　04. What can usually cause the generation gap in families?

　　As far as I know. th ere are quite a lot of factors that can cause the generation gap in families. The most important one might be different values between older generations and younger ones. What the elderly treasure may not be what the young care about. An example is that in my country the older generations usually attach great importance to a stable ob of a youngster. However, in the younger generations eyes, it's not something important at all. The majority of ideas held by the elderly are quite conservative whereas the young are always quite creative and avant-garde. That's why generation gaps exist.
