　　I’d like to talk about a friend of mine whose name is Ann.

　　We met each other the first day in high school when we sat down at the same desk in the classroom. We became really good friends because we had many common interests.

　　Ann is probably the most intelligent person I know. When we were in high school, she always got top grades in exams. She especially excelled in science subjects while I was always struggling with math. She often helped me with my math homework. No matter how hard the problem was, she could explain it to me in a way that would help me understand easily and clearly.

　　Ann often took part in science competitions and won many awards. She wasn’t just book-smart. She was a creative problem solver who was always thinking outside the box. After graduating from high school, she got into Nanjing University, which is considered one of the most prestigious universities in China. And now she’s studying in the US for her doctor’s degree in physics.

　　I feel that she’s not only intelligent but also very kind. She has a heart of gold and her life goal is to make the world a better place for everyone. I’m sure she has the determination and ability to achieve that goal.
