　　While talking about a piece of furniture in my home, without any doubt I'd like to say something about a desk my father bought a couple of weeks ago. To start with, I have to say it cost my father around 150 thousand yuan. In my country, by using the same amount of money people can buy a car. My mother and I of course complained a lot about its incredibly high price. Thus, my father explained a lot. The desk is quite narrow and long, unlike some desks people often see nowadays. It is called Tiaoan, a kind of traditional desk, which was popular in Ming and Qing Dynasty. To some extent, it is a kind of antique which is worthy of collecting. In addition, the raw material of this desk is a kind of rosewood imported from Cambodia, which makes it much more expensive than ordinary desks.

　　Most importantly, the desk was made in a sort of special and unique technique called mortise and tenon. By using this technique, carpenters

　　don't need any nails or screws to connect all the parts of the desk. Every piece of the desk was designed specifically, and therefore parts could connect together firmly In both Ming and Qing Dynasty, almost all furniture was made by this kind of technique.

　　After being told all the above, I realised it's not only a piece of ancient style furniture but also a work of art. With time flying fast, many things are being changed all the time but traditional things are still classy.
