　　What is the tradition

　　A festival tradition that comes to mind is visiting the Lunar new year market, a kind of open-air market. When I was young, my grandpa always took me to visit the market during the festival. I really enjoyed it and it becalms our special thing to do together. We went every year until he passed away.

　　When do people follow this tradition?

　　Actually it is a pop up market which stays for about 2 weeks from spring festival till lantern festival. Normally it opens from 12 pm till midnight.

　　What do the people do?

　　The market is a lively place in the city during the festival and you can do various kinds of things. For example, you can try loads of delicious local food and also learn about the history and process of each dish.

　　On top of that, you can also buy some traditional handicrafts, carefully woven baskets, hand-made jewelry and so on. They are all high quality, but reasonably priced so people flock to buy something they want for the new year.

　　How you feel about it

　　I love this market very much because it makes our city lively and vibrant. It also allows us to stop for a rest. During the year, we are rushed off our feet almost every day. We are busy with work and study, but there is no time to kick back and relax and do the things we enjoy doing.

　　But when i go to the market, it just takes me back in time when everything was slower. I can wander around the market at a leisurely pace taking in the atmosphere. The market is also a good place for me to learn more about Chinese culture and see people I grew up with.
