雅思口语part2【一个有趣的传统】答案示例赏析!I’d like to talk about Chinese wedding tea ceremony, which plays a significant part in weddings for Chinese people. The tea ceremony is one of the most significant events at a Chinese wedding. It’s called jing cha in Chinese, literally meaning, to offer tea respectfully. It incorporates a very formal introduction of the bride and groom and expresses respect to their families.

Typically, the tea ceremony is held on the big day at the couple’s respective homes. However, some couples may choose to have the tradition for both the families before the wedding dinner. In a typical tea ceremony, the couple is required to serve the tea to the elders in a sequential fashion, starting from the elders to the youngest members of the family.

As for what is interesting about it, tea has some special meaning in Chinese culture. A tea tree cannot be transplanted. It only sprouts and grows from a seed. Thus, people took tea to symbolize loyalty, love, and expectation of a happily married life. Besides, serving tea when guests come is a very traditional way to show respects.

When it comes to how I feel about this tradition, well, I think it’s an important moment in which members of both families become relative of each other. Despite adapting to the modern ways of the global village we live in, to date, the tradition of tea ceremonies at Chinese weddings has remained and is still highly valued today.
