　　A time when I won a prize happened when I was sophomore. At the beginning of that semester, I had a chance to take part in the All China Interpreting Contest, which is a well-renowned interpreting competition in China held by Translators Association. I really wanted to win the first prize but I was informed that there has been only one fellow student in my department who reached the final last year due to the fact that this contest consists of a large number of excellent students who wish to enter the interpreting and translating profession after graduation.

　　When it comes to what I did to win it, I attached great importance to daily practice, which is what matters the most since the length of tape hour is critical in evaluating whether an interpreter is qualified or not. In this way, I tried to ensure that my daily practice hour would be no less than three hours. Besides, after recording my speaking, I reviewed it and analysed the performance so as to increase the accuracy, which is also an efficient way to make the training more productive. Since the short-term memory is essential in doing consecutive interpreting, then I focused on enhancing my ability to do quick response through some quiz games.

　　After two months of efforts, I made it and I was fully aware that the whole process was just like a marathon. Despite tears and sweating, I proved that I could be a qualified professional interpreter in the future, which boosted my confidence and motivated me to work harder.
