　　A time when a family member asked me for help happened when my grandma asked me to teach her how to use the smartphone. I bought my grandma a smartphone as her birthday gift when I was in the senior year of university. Since it was the first time that she had got such an intelligent device, she had no idea how to use it. Then, she called me to visit her at the weekend and most importantly, I was supposed to be her teacher. As for how I helped her, I made full preparations including drawing the steps on paper in advance, making notes beside each button, and recording the instructions step by step on my phone to serve as audio-visual learning materials. When I got my grandma’s home, I taught her slowly and patiently, from how to open the device, how to make a video call to how to take pictures and selfies. I even downloaded various selfie apps for her since my grandma was the kind of lady who is obsessed with the latest trend. After two hour’s teaching, she seemed to get all my points and began to use it without my assistance. Speaking of how I felt about it, I got good kicks out of the whole process. I really enjoyed showing her how to use the phone because my grandma used to be an English teacher who always criticized my academic performance when I was in high school. Now, it was my turn to teach her, which made me feel that I had really grown up.
