雅思口语Part3:Visit a historical building !参观历史建筑!内容由雅思8分、听力9分,拥有12年美国学习和工作经验,环球教育·华南总校人气雅思口语May老师原创。下面和上名校小编一起来详细的学习一下吧!
雅思口语Part2原题:
Describe a historical building you have visited
You should say:
◆ Where it is
◆ What it looks like
◆ Why you went there
And explain how you felt about this historical building
Part3
historical buildings

1. Historical buildings
‐(Identify) The kinds of historical buildings people often visit in your country.
My country has a history spanning thousands of years. Some popular historical landmarks that people like to visit include ancient city walls, old temples, imperial palaces and gardens as well as historical museums.
‐(Suggest) Ways of protecting the old buildings.
There are various things people can do to protect historical buildings. Government and society should place great importance on the cultural and economic impacts of old buildings, and therefore they should dedicate sufficient financial and human resources into restoring and maintaining the original forms of old buildings. As general public, we should follow the preservation guidelines when we visit these old buildings, such as preventing ourselves from scribbling on the walls or leaving garages behind.
‐(Comment on) Some people think that protecting historical buildings is not that important?
The reason for such opinion is mostly because people think historical buildings are not useful or beautiful by modern standards. I think historical buildings have important culture significance, as well as educational and economic values. They tell us what life and culture were like in the past, and they attract more and more tourists to local communities.
2. Historical significance
‐(Suggest) How teachers can encourage children to study history?
There are a couple of things history teachers can do to inspire students. For example, stories about historical events and important figures can be interesting for children. Telling children stories is an easy way to get them interested in learning history. In addition, it is hard for children to visualize what happened when relying solely on text book to learn about history. Teachers can bring history to life by taking children to museums or important historical sites.
‐(Consider) Whether studying history in school is necessary?
I think it’s necessary for everyone to study history, and therefore history should be a mandatory subject in school. Through history, we can learn how past society, systems, cultures and technologies were built and how they were changed. It allows us to develop a better understanding of our current world and a much greater appreciation for what we have today.
3. Knowing the past
‐(Consider) How the past can help humans shape their present and future?
The experiences we have today and in the future are likely shaped by past events we have been through. Events in our childhoods can shape our personalities, the way we think about the world and how we interact with people. In addition, people generally rely on lessons learnt from past events to make current and future decisions.
‐(Agree/disagree) Some of the history might be fake because it is written by people.
I agree with this point of view. In order to make a historical accomplishment sounds more significant, or a historical figure sounds more fascinating, people can spread fake stories or rumors about the past. Generally, these narratives are based on the truths but give audience a more dramatic feeling about a certain event or figure.
‐(Evaluate) The advantages and disadvantages of living in the past.
In the past, children could play outside more because the air was fresher and the water was cleaner. Life was simpler because it was less competitive to work and study, and there were not many entertainment options. The disadvantage of living in the past is that it was inconvenient to travel, to communicate with others as well as to learn new knowledge. Thanks to the development of technologies, we now have high speed trains, smart phones, the internet and various social media apps to make our lives more efficient.
