雅思口语Part1-3话题语料积累：Animals

　　在气温越来越低的冬日，大家总想待在温暖的地方，吃点滚烫的食物，甚至还想抱个暖和的人。当然不是每个人都那么幸运地能有人相拥，所以剩下的单身贵族们还能怎么自救一下呢？答案当然是：毛孩子——可爱的小动物们了！

　　那么今天的语料分享，鸭先知想针对雅思里的常考话题“animal 动物”来展开说说。那么关于“animal”这一话题应该怎么准备和回答呢？帮大家梳理出了以下三大板块：

　　1.动物的种类

　　2.宠物 vs 野生动物

　　3.动物保护

　　首先，动物的种类会是“animal”话题的第一道关卡。那么当问到大家知晓的动物种类单词时，大家脱口而出无非是“dog”、“cat”、“pig”、“duck”这样的词汇。那其他那些常见的，可可爱爱的动物们的英文单词到底是什么呢？

　　我们可以将常见的动物分为以下五个大类：

　　# Mammals（哺乳动物）

　　e.g. tiger（老虎）elephant（大象） panda（熊猫） giraffe（长颈鹿） lion（狮子）

　　# Reptile（爬行动物）

　　e.g. snake（蛇）crocodile（鳄鱼）turtle（乌龟） gecko（壁虎）

　　e.g. owl（猫头鹰）peacock（孔雀）P、penguin（企鹅）parrot（鹦鹉）

　　# Fish/Marin Organism（海洋生物）

　　在了解了关于动物种类的区分后，另一个经常讨论的话题就是关于宠物和野生动物。一般关于“pets 宠物”的雅思问题会围绕是否养过宠物，和宠物的经历来展开讨论。

　　例句：

　　I wish I had kept pets like dogs or hamsters. But my mom is allergic to animal’s fur so having animals in the house has always been off limits in my family.

　　而“wild animals 野生动物”则会总跟一个名词绑定讨论，那个名词就是“zoo 动物园”。因为一般现在的我们能够接触到野生动物的机会，绝大部分都是在动物园。所以，雅思口语中就会出现问询“你是否去过动物园？”或者是“你是否喜欢野生动物”等问题。

　　但是关于动物园存在的合理性，一直存在争议。支持的人会觉得动物园一方面给人们提供了机会去接触到平时无法见到的野生生物，其次也能帮助人们更好的了解这些生物的生活习惯，进而保护他们。但反对动物园的人认为把动物关在相对狭小的空间生活，是一件很违反生物天性的事情。

　　例句：

　　Last week, I went to the zoo with my friends. There I saw different kinds of wild animals like elephants, tigers, giraffes and chimpanzees.

　　例句：

　　I don’t like going to the zoo. This is not just because I think the zoo is a place for kids, but putting animals in a cage is a kind of cruelty inflicted on them. They should be running in the wild instead of being confined in the cage.

　　最后“animal 动物”话题会涉及到的一个主要问题就是关于动物保护。在口语Part 3中曾出现过的一个考题是“should we protect animals？”-我们应该保护动物吗？

　　答案当然是“Yes”，可是怎么去拓展这个回答呢？帮助大家梳理了以下三个支撑论据：

　　-Deserve a good life

　　-Biodiversity （物种多样性）

　　-Benefit humans

　　例句：

　　I think it’s quite important to protect animals, especially those endangered species. First, animals are a lot like human beings who are living on this planet and are entitled to a decent life just like us. We have no right to harm them for selfish reasons. Second, biodiversity is essential for our ecosystem. If one animal species goes extinct, it will disrupt the food chain, affecting all other species and leading to disastrous consequences. Last but not least, animals are beneficial to us humans in many ways. For example, a lot of medicines are extracted from animal bodies, and such medicines can be used to treat human diseases. In other words, protecting animals is protecting ourselves.
