　　Should parents interfere with their children's pursuit?

　　In my opinion, parents should interfere with children's pursuit but not with a strong attitude. Obviously, parents have more social and working experience which may help their kids have a better understand of their innocent thoughts. However, parents should only give out suggestions but not make decisions for their children or force them to follow parents’ thoughts.

　　Will parents have a strong impact on children on building an ambition?

　　Of course. Children tend to discuss their ambition with their parents most often, so the feedback from parents will significantly influence children’s’ thoughts. Besides, support and encouragement from parents are important composition of children’s self-confidence, which is essential for building up an ambition.

　　Which career do the Chinese prefer the most in general?

　　Doctor is the most “ideal” career in China, especially in parents’ perspective. Firstly, the nature of the job is to save people from danger and illness, which deserves respect in any circumstances. Secondly, the salary of doctors is fairly high comparing to other jobs. Lastly, the skill set that a doctor have is a rare resource in the society so it is almost impossible to lose the job.

　　What kind of ambition do people have, and why?

　　Ambition can be defined in a wide range from quitting a bad habit to deciding one’s career. Younger people tend to have ambitions that are more unrealistic. But the world needs people like Elon Musk and Steve jobs with their wild ambitions.

　　Should parents stop the child if the pursuit is unrealistic?

　　I don’t think so. Because of the generation gap, what parents believe is unrealistic might be not true. For example, parents few years ago would hardly imagine e-sports player and vlogger as a career. Nevertheless, parents can and should realistically analyse child’s pursuit and discuss with the kid.

　　What should the young value the most when choosing a job?

　　I think the young should consider what they can learn from a job the most. No matter how deep you love the field you choose, even jobs like being a singer or gamer, as long as you do it for living, you will get bored of it. So, the key value is to improve yourself.
