　　In your country, who would ask the children to read, schools or parents?

　　Actually, both of them do, but the situation varies from person to person. In some families, the parents value reading, regarding the activity an important method in order to explore and develop kids’ mental world, but things are different in some other families. However, in every school, teachers attach importance to reading, and they encourage their students to read as many useful books as they can.

　　Do you think parents should read stories to children bedtime?

　　Yes, I think it’s a good representation of companionship. When children are young and can not read, bedtime reading is a good way for them to know the outside world and set their rules for right and wrong. Parents and educate their children and show their love and care at the same time.

　　What does reading means to you?

　　When I was in middle school, reading is my interest, it can bring to a larger world. I can know the world without travelling. As time passes, it became a burden to me in high school, since there was too much reading to do. It became a task, not a pleasure. Now, reading is a “me time” for me, it means inner calm. When I read, I won’t look at my phone, the only world I’m in is the place that the book describes.

　　What kind of books do children read?

　　It’s hard to say, since this varies from child to child. For most of girls, they prefer fairy tales and princess stories, and most boys love adventure stories. But I also know girls who like history stories and boys who enjoy mythology. What’s more, their tastes change with their age, so it’s not fixed.

　　Do you think parents should continue reading?

　　Of course they do. This is not only a must for them to make progress and gain more knowledge, it is also about setting up examples for their children. If parents never read, it is of small possibility for their children to love reading.

　　Do you think printed books will continue to exist?

　　Frankly speaking, I have no idea. Although these days e-books appear and they are cheaper and more flexible, printed books win in terms of protecting eyesight. Different people have different tastes and needs in reading, so they can choose from these two forms, but who knows what will happen in the future?
