　　What is a farm?

　　柯林斯词典对“farm”这个词的解释，为“农场”或者“养殖场”。并不是很多同学认为的“田地”或者“农田”。了解了这个单词的含义，我们来看其中几道题的参考思路。

　　Have you ever done any farm work?

　　Well, I would say yes. Although I haven't sown or harvested the crops on the farm, I ever helped my grandfather to herd and feed the sheep several years ago when I visited my grandparents in the countryside.

　　What kinds of farms do you like?

　　I like the huge farms in Northeast China. Unlike the rest of China, farms in this region are usually enormous, covering an area of hundreds of acres. Fields of wheat or corn stretch out as far as we can see. It is splendid.

　　Do you think farming is important?

　　Definitely yes. It is a known fact that farm produce is basic necessity of life , feeding the ever-growing population on this planet. What's more, agriculture is the primary industry of national economy, laying the foundation for other industries.

　　What animals are suitable to be kept on the farm?

　　I would say animals which are tame are suitable to be kept on farm, such as cows, sheep, and pigs.  Apparently, the domestication of these animals is much easier than that of horses. Besides, there are also a large number of farms keeping fish and poultry which are easy to manage.
