　　How does a Chinese family look like?

　　The general composition of Chinese families is going through transformation now. Some of the families only include two generations of people just like the nuclear family in the western countries.

　　Other families keep the tradition of living with the elderly so they could be taken care of more easily. Both forms can be seen commonly in China.

　　Who is the leader in a family?

　　The leader in a family is commonly male, usually the farther. This can be trace back to the old times when men were responsible for the majority income earned and all the heavy work in the house.

　　However, in modern days, increasing number of women begin to lead the family as most of them now receive equal education as men.

　　Is grandmother important in your family?

　　Well, my grandmother passed away when I was very little so I hardly have any memory about her. However, she must be very important to my mother just as how significant my mother means to me.

　　What is the most important quality of parents?

　　I think the most important quality of parents is patience. Kids tend to be emotionally unstable or troublesome due to their ignorance. Parents should have the ability to pacify them before correcting their behaviour. Otherwise, the educating part would not be that effective.

　　In Chinese culture, who is responsible for issues in a family?

　　Traditionally, mothers are responsible for cooking and laundry at home no matter she works or not, while fathers are expected to earn a salary that is high enough to cover the expense of the whole family. But the tradition is fading out gradually. For instance, in my family my dad cooks every day because he pays great attention on food quality.

　　What should a family learn when they are welcoming a new-born baby?

　　Parenting is a difficult task. As you can see, there are increasing number of parenting school occurred in the market in recent years. Most new parents try their best to take good care of their children. I think the hardest part should be spending enough time to accompany the baby while balancing work, which new parents should learn from existing experiences.
