　　Choice of topic – An all-inclusive resort in Mexico

　　First and foremost, I want to say that I’m not usually a big hotel person when I go on holiday. I always felt that hotels were kind of soulless and pretty much all the same – you get your room, your bed, your bathroom, the usual amenities and that’s basically it. There’s also not much community in a typical hotel, so it’s hard to meet anyone. So usually, I tend to choose a private room in an Airbnb, because that way I can meet the host, I can get advice about the local area, and really feel like I’m in a different city or a foreign country. Sometimes the hosts even show me the sights themselves!

　　But one hotel that I did stay in last year could definitely be described as very special indeed. I was on a business trip to Mexico, and my partner and I decided to splurge on an expensive all-inclusive resort for the last few days of the trip. It was called the Hyatt Zilara, and it was fantastic.

　　We were a bit wary of paying for the hotel because it was so expensive and non-refundable, but in the end, we decided to take the plunge, and we did not regret it! The first thing that was amazing about the hotel was the list ofexcursions that they provided as part of the package – there were day-trips to loads of sightseeing spots, scuba-diving classes, cooking classes, and all kinds of other stuff.

　　There were 5 different restaurants, all with different types of cuisine, and the buffet breakfast in the morning was unbelievable – that was probably the culinary highlight for us. We ate like pigs while we were there! And all the staff there were really attentive and kept bringing us all kinds of drinks and snacks and other goodies. We stayed there for 4 days, and it was paradise!
