　　1) What kinds of foreign food are popular in your country?

　　There are a lot of foreign foods that are very well received in China. Firstly, Italian cuisine is popular although a lot of the Italian food available is not very authentic. Pizza is a well-known Italian food that is open to interpretation by Chinese chefs. We can find pizza with toppings like durian, shrimp or squid in China, which are pretty uncommon in other countries. Secondly, steak is the king of western meat dish in China. It’s on the menu of almost every western restaurants in China. Thirdly, a lot of foreign deserts are popular in China, ranging from Tiramisu from Italy to pancakes and cupcakes from America. Chinese people are very open to foreign bakeries.

　　2) What are young people's opinions on new food? How about old people?

　　Just like any other new products or information, young people accept new food much easier than old people. One reason is that companies generally like to use internet and social media to spread information on new food, due to the extensive reach of digital media and online advertising. Compared to the influence on other age group, social media has a bigger influence on young people and therefore better motivates them to try and accept new food. Another reason is that a lot of the new food nowadays are the so-called healthy food or super food, which mostly targeting people that care a lot about their body image and diets. Because young people are generally more concerned with their image and popularity among peers, they will be eager to pursue the newer trend of eating.
