　　Describe a time you bought something from a street (or outdoor) market.

　　I'm going to talk about a toy I bought from a street market several years ago.

　　It was during the National Day holiday, when I went back to my hometown to enjoy my vacation. Apart from having meals with my extended family, I also met up with my best friend, Tina. We grew up together and have been quite close. Although we do not live in the same city, we would meet whenever there is a chance.

　　Anyway, Tina and I just went to this street market which is located on a street in the east part of town. It opens after 6 p.m. so it is also called night market. Actually, such a kind of market is pretty popular among residents in small cities in China. There would be vendors cooking freshly made food like fruit juice, ice cream, fried skewers and various snacks. Besides, you can also find stalls selling clothes, shoes and toys. Tina and I are both fans of this market since we can always buy something interesting.

　　This time I bought a clockwork toy, which was a monkey who can somersalt. After winding the clockwork to its tightest, the mokey can flip forward 3 or 4 times in a row like what the Mokey King does, looking funny and adorable. It was also a colorful toy with a green body, pink hands and purple feet. I guess such a combination of bright colors is sepcially designed to attract young kids. But it also successfully caught my attention and I bought two at once, one for each of us. Tina and I found it so fun that we played it for quite a while.

　　I do love this toy because it reminds me of my happy childhood. I had a similar toy when I was younger but I just could not find it. This colockwork monkey is kind of a substitute which helps me regain the joy of childhood.
