　　Some people think that it is more beneficial to take part in sports which are played in teams, like football. But others think taking part in individual sports is better, like swimming. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

　　Participating in athletic activities has a variety of physical and mental benefits for individuals of all ages. Whether athletes partake in team or individual sports is wholly dependent on their preference, which will be further explored.

　　With respect to team sports, sportspeople enjoy the advantage of improving communication and teamwork skills. For instance, effective teams ought to be able to identify each member’s strengths and weaknesses in order to leverage them for the benefit of the entire team. Moreover, solidifying relationships and creating new friendships frequently takes place when taking part in team sports as interaction is necessary between team members. To add to that, it’s enjoyable to not only socialise with teammates but also develop skills and share methods to improve while engaging in athletic activities.

　　On the contrary, playing an individual sport enables athletes to fully focus on improving their technique without being distracted by other team members. Additionally, winning tournaments or collecting medals is their sole achievement, which is not dependent on other teammates who may take credit for their success. Athletes participating in individual sports also tend to be more focused and motivated to pursue greatness as they do not rely on other teammates and have more to prove to their fans and themselves.

　　From my point of view, undertaking team or individual sports particularly depends on athletes’ abilities and personalities. It is optimal for individuals to become members of teams as well as play sports individually as they can enjoy the best of both worlds.
